today has made me think a lot about the past year and everything that has happened. i don’t usually ever make these kinds of posts but with the launch of the maine - pioneer trailer i thought i would.
14 months ago i had just finished warped tour 2010 with a broken camera and had no idea what i was going to do next. i was pretty out of it so i took 3 months off and did nothing at all.. no shows, no shooting, nothing. a few months later, as a lot of you know, i was offered a tour with a band called this century and everything started to pick back up for me. i was travelling the country again, making friends, and having the best time.
over the next year i worked harder than i think i ever have in my life. did back to back tours and spent only 3 weeks at home between january and may.
and now i’m here.
i think the point to this rant/story is to not give up on what you love.. 14 months ago i really had nothing. i had just started listening to the maine, and now i’ve been given the chance to do a huge amount of media work for them and the new album.
even though right now it seems like nothing will ever happen for you, you have no idea what is around the corner and waiting.
don’t give up on what you love to do.
If I didn’t already admire Jay, this just made me. Such an inspiration.
